The July Wylie Senior Rec Center Newsletter for adults age 55+ is now available on our City webpage.

Due to the recent hail storm, Wylie Sr Rec Center participants are meeting at Waterbrook Church located at 507 Thomas St.

Bring out your inner superhero by celebrating National Parks and Rec Month with tons of activities including crafts and super strength games! Join us for a trip to Fort Worth to learn about the history of American art, challenge friends in our Texas Hold 'Em Tournament and create beautiful corsages in our Basic Floral Design Class.

Train with an NBA Player!

Wylie Recreation presents Championship Basketball for kids ages 8-12.

Learn basketball fundamentals, social skills, and nutrition recommendations while enhancing abilities through drills, games, and skills assessments.

Sidney Moncrief is a retired NBA player who enjoys teaching the game of basketball to kids. He played college basketball at the University of Arkansas where he went to the Final Four. Sidney went on to play 11 seasons in the NBA and was a five-time NBA All-Star and two-time Defensive Player of the Year winner. Coach Moncrief and his team of highly experienced instructors have coached at the college level and in the NBA.

Cooking Camps GALORE!

Beginner CookingInternational Cuisine, and Jr. Chef are some of the exciting camps that Wylie Recreation Center has to offer this summer for kids ages 7 – 14!

Scott Horwitz has been the executive Director for 1st Class Kids since May 2006. His program empowers kids to make healthier food choices by providing opportunities to experiment with various flavors and food groups while teaching nutrition. Scott brings his years of experience of being a chef to the classroom to give kids the opportunity to play with food, because food should be fun!
