The Arts Preschool Style

Register your little one for these fun and educational Arts activities at Wylie Recreation Center. Courses starting soon.

Ballet - Considered by many to be the foundation for all types of dance, this instruction includes barre work, across the floor progressions, centre work and combinations. Curriculum focuses on the French terminology and appropriate classical music. All levels of dance experience welcome. Open to ages 3 - 5 years. Courses are taught by awesome expert, Jamie Williams and meet Wednesday, 4:30 pm starting September 3.

ABC’s & 123’s - A is for Alligator and F is for FUN! In a positive learning environment develop critical thinking, problem solving and social skills. Develop fine motor skills and get creative with arts and crafts. Help the successful transition to kindergarten through a variety of games and purposeful play. Open to ages 2 - 5 years. Courses are taught by awesome expert, Angela Daniel and meet Friday, 9:30 am starting September 5.

Crafty Kids - Explore kid crafts worthy of proud display on the refrigerator door! Learn how to follow instructions while making friends and thinking creatively. Enjoy fun and educational themed projects while working on hand and eye coordination through cutting, pasting, coloring and more! Parent participation required. Dress to mess. Registration includes child and parent. Open to ages 2 - 5 years. Courses taught by awesome expert, Angela Daniel and meet Monday, 11:30 am starting September 8.

Register in-person at Wylie Recreation Center or Senior Recreation Center or register online NOW! Not a resident? No Rec Pass? That's ok! Activity registration is open to everyone.

Jamie Williams offers a variety of dance classes including Hip Hop, Drill Team, Ballet and Tap for children and adults. She was captain of her award winning high school drill team. She has been choreographing and teaching dance full time to all ages for the past seven years. Jamie founded, directed and choreographed for Dance Unending Performing Company for three years. Jamie constantly strives to widen her dance experience and learn new methods and techniques.

Angela Daniel is a mother of two and has been working part-time at Wylie Recreation Center since opening in February of 2010. Before that, she worked in Houston as a early childhood educator. She enjoys making crafts and planning activities for children. She has been teaching Creative Movement at Wylie Recreation Center since the Summer of 2011. She is passionate about children of all ages and loves having opportunities to engage the community in fun and exciting activities.
