Granola, Inflatables and The LEGO Movie Don't Miss Week 2 {National Park and Rec Month}


Week 2 July 14 - 18 at Wylie Rec Center

Freezer Monday - Free snowcones every Monday, all month long, 2 – 3 PM or until we run out.

Geo Cache - Wylie Plug in the coordinates and decipher the secret Park and Recreation Month code! Open to all ages, July 14 – 21.

Rec Mob - Winner of the 2013 Regional Texas Recreation and Parks Society Excellence in Communication Award. Get mobbed! We are bringing the Rec Center to a park near you! Staff-led camp style games and activities for 3 days in 3 parks. Locations posted on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter 30 minutes before mob time. Attend all 3 mobs and win a prize! Open to all ages, July 15, 16, & 17, 10 – 11 AM.

Take a Hike - Explore the local native landscape with Wylie Parks staff leading the tour. Open to all ages, July 15, 6:30 – 7:30 PM.

Plant a Plant - Make friends with the flora! Plant your own take-home flower and learn from Park pros about caring for your blooms. Open to all ages, July 16, 10 – 11 AM.

Teddy Bear Picnic - Bring your bears and a picnic lunch for a story, crafts, a bear movie and lots of fun! Open to ages 2 – 6 years old, July 17, 10:30 AM – 12 PM. Registration required.

Granola Bar - Pick your faves and make your own summer mix. Raisins, craisins, seeds and more! Open to all ages, July 18, 9 – 11 AM & 8 – 9 PM.

Food Truck Friday - Try out these tasty treats! July 11, 18, & 25, 5 – 9:30 PM.

Race to the Top Inflatable - Be the first to grab the flag off the top of this inflated “hill”. Open to ages 7 years and older, July 18, 1 – 9 pm. Rec Pass required.

Bounce Houses and Games - Open to ages 3 years and older, July 18, 5 – 9 PM.

Lawnchair Theater Presents - The Lego Movie - An ordinary Lego construction worker, thought to be the prophesied ‘Special’, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the Lego universe into eternal stasis. Bring something to sit on and money for concessions. Movie Rating: PG, July 18, daylight determines start time (approximately 8:45 – 10:15 PM).



Events held at Wylie Recreation Center. Waiver may be required prior to participation for some equipment and attractions. A Rec Pass may be required for some activities as noted. All events are FREE unless otherwise noted.
